Q. What kind of job can I get with the Master of Health and Human
Service?
A. There are a multitude of jobs that
you can acquire, some examples are:
Pharmaceutical Industry,
Health Care Administration,
Health Promoting Organizations such
as American Heart Association, American Red Cross,
Educators and/or Department Manager in
Hospital Programs or
Community Settings,
Educators in HMO'S, Nutritional Supplement Industry,
Managers in Public Health Department,
Managers in Rehabilitation
centers,
and Health Insurance Agencies.

Q. How long will it take for me to finish this degree and
can I go part time?
A. Students who opt to enroll as full-time graduate
students can complete the program in two years. As a graduate student,
it is your preference to take one class or as many as you need to
achieve full time status. Time allotment for completion of this program
is 6 years.

Q. When are the classes?
A. The classes are scheduled primarily on the weekends,
Friday and Saturday.

Q. How many semester hours do you need to carry to be considered
a full time student?
A. 9 semester hours (approximately three to four
classes).

Q. What is IDL and how will it effect me?
A. Interactive Distance Learning are classes which
are transmitted via T1 to Lorain
County Community College. This provides the opportunity for YSU campus
students
to interact with YSU students at LCCC and other campuses.

Q. What kind of housing is available for Graduate Students
at YSU?
A. Graduate students have housing on campus at the
Weller House and many other local apartment complexes.

Q. What types of financial aid or scholarships are available?
A. There are graduate scholarships available for
those who meet the criteria. More information is available at "The
School of Graduate Studies and Research".

Q. Is there an adequate amount of parking for students?
A. YSU has ample parking for all students.

Q. What types of free activities are YSU students granted?
A. Free admission to any collegiate Men or Women's
sports ranging from: Football, Baseball, Volleyball, Soccer, Swimming,
Basketball, Track and Field, Golf, Softball, Tennis and Diving.
Free admission to YSU's Fitness Room and Weight Room which contains
state of the
art equipment and is open every day of the week. Free admission to
Butler Art and McDonough Museum's. Free admission to a multitude of
plays and musical performances.
Career Services- This YSU department helps students compile their
resume, market themselves, participate in mock job interviews, and
keeps extensive databases of company job information readily available.
Currently, YSU has more than 50 student labs on campus, spread across
14 buildings. Of the 1000+ computers in these facilities, 85% are
currently networked, including labs in Meshel, DeBartolo, Williamson,
Cushwa, Engineering Science, Beeghly, Kilcawley Center, Kilcawley
House, Cafaro, Lyden, Maag, Bliss, Coffelt, and the Metro-College
sites computer labs which students have for their convenience.

Q. Are there any professional organizations that graduate
students can join?
A. Yes, Alpha Epsilon Lambda.

Q. What other types of activities happen around campus?
A. Stambaugh and Powers auditorium have an array
of concerts and entertainers who fill up there venue. The Summer Festival
of Arts offers an assortment of activities representative from many
cultures. They include a "hands on" arts festival, artists
marketplace, music, theater, dance, ethnic foods of the region, fireworks
and much much more.

Q. What types of transportation is available for students?
A. WRTA busing has many frequent stops at YSU, which
can take students to a multitude of places.

Q. Are there any local day care facilities for students with
children?
A. Yes, Wee Care Day Care which is located less than
one mile from YSU, can attend to your needs. |
