The Program
Family and Consumer Studies program is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of individuals and families across the life span and to prepare students to work in agencies serving children, families and consumers. Students can create a unique program that reflects their career interests or graduate school goals. Students find employment in a variety of community agencies and businesses related to their areas of study.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Family and Consumer Studies Program is to prepare students to work in a broad range of settings that serve children, families and consumers. Aspiring professionals will learn how to address the daily challenges of families and consumers. The program combines a rich history of dedication to family issues with the pursuit of innovative strategies for the future. It centers on caring, thinking, and planning for and about families.
